Position Summary:
The successful candidates will contribute to the advancement of the faculty's academic and research mission through high-quality teaching, scholarly activities, student mentorship, and active participation in institutional development and accreditation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will be expected to:
- Deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Mechanical Engineering and related specialized fields.
- Design, develop, and continuously enhance course content in alignment with international academic standards and accreditation requirements.
- Supervise undergraduate graduation projects, postgraduate theses, and student research activities.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to support students' academic and professional development.
- Conduct innovative and impactful research and maintain an active publication record in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
- Pursue externally funded research projects and establish collaborative partnerships with academic and industrial entities.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university committees, as well as community engagement and institutional initiatives.
- Contribute to quality assurance, accreditation, and continuous improvement activities, particularly those related to the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE) and ABET standards.
- Support and mentor students participating in technical competitions, engineering projects, and innovation programs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Applicants should satisfy the following requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide according to recognized international rankings.
- Demonstrated specialization in Mechatronics Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of five (5) years of proven university-level teaching experience with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student-centered learning.
- Distinguished research record evidenced by publications in reputable international peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
- Experience working in a NAQAAE-accredited higher education institution, with documented involvement in accreditation and quality assurance processes.
- Sound knowledge of ABET accreditation standards and practices; prior experience in an ABET-accredited institution is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in supervising and coaching students in engineering competitions and innovation activities.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
