Ahmed Elgendy wins Best Arab Athlete Award for 2025
Our champion, Ahmed Elgendy, Business Informatics student and Paris 2024 Olympic gold medalist, has been awarded the Mohammed Bin Rashid Award for Sports Creativity as the Best Arab Athlete of 2025. The award was presented during a ceremony held in Dubai.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended part of the events of the 16th edition of the Globe Soccer Awards, held at Atlantis The Royal Resort, Dubai.
Elgendy’s sports journey began with a gold medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires 2018, earning him the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Best Arab Athlete the same year. He became the first Egyptian and Arab athlete to win an Olympic medal in modern pentathlon at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, securing silver, before claiming gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics with 1,555 points, setting a new Olympic record.
Ahmed’s achievements continue to inspire the next generation of athletes, reflecting dedication, perseverance, and excellence in both sports and academics.
