Prof. Ahmed Hamad, Acting President of the university, said the decree renews confidence in every member of the Board and keeps within its ranks distinguished local and international expertise in business technology, communications, and entrepreneurship. He noted that this adds greatly to the standing of the university, the first Egyptian university specialized in information and communications technology in the Middle East and Africa, which was established in 2021 by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Prof. Hamad credited the university’s progress to teamwork among its administration and faculty, and to their cooperation with this elite group of experts. He pointed to the university’s entry into the 2026 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, which measure universities’ contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and to its broad network of agreements with leading universities in the United States, Canada, France, and Japan, alongside partnerships with major companies in communications and information technology. He also highlighted the university’s success, as part of a 13-partner consortium from nine countries in Europe and Africa, in securing funding for a research project under the EU-funded “Artificial Intelligence for Africa” alliance. Beyond this, he cited dozens of papers published in leading scientific journals and hundreds of technical programs and smart solutions designed by students and faculty to address challenges facing Egyptian society and industry.

Prof. Hamad emphasized that this journey would not have been possible without the vision of the university’s founder, Dr. Amr Talaat, and the dedication of its late founding president, Prof. Reem Bahgat, may God have mercy on her and reward her for all she gave to the university and its students. He also thanked the previous Board of Trustees, chaired by former President of the Republic Counselor Adly Mansour, with Eng. Raafat Hindy as vice-chair, as well as the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Egypt’s university councils for their continued support, extending sincere thanks and appreciation on behalf of the university.
