EUI Class of 2026 Graduation

EUI celebrated the graduation of the second batch of students from the Faculties of Computing and Information Sciences, Business Informatics, and Digital Arts and Design, in addition to the first batch of the Faculty of Engineering and students who earned dual degrees. The celebration was attended by H.E. Eng. Raafat Hindy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

The ceremony was held at the EUI campus in Knowledge City, in the New Administrative Capital. It was attended by Dr. Amr Talaat, former Minister of Communications and Information Technology; Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, former Minister of Culture; Dr. Sherif Hammad, former Minister of Scientific Research and member of the University's Board of Trustees; Mr. Valdas Lastauskas, Ambassador of Lithuania to Cairo; Mr. Eero Väisänen, Deputy Head of Mission of Finland in Cairo; and Dr. Maher Mosbah, Secretary of the Council of Private Universities. Representatives of EUI's international partner universities, a number of presidents of national and private universities, senior officials from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, members of the University's Board of Trustees and faculty, as well as graduates and their families, also attended.

The graduating batches celebrated included 214 graduates, among them 43 students who earned dual degrees in collaboration with international universities. These include Purdue West Lafayette University (USA) in Computer Engineering and Electronics and Communications Engineering, the University of Minnesota (USA) in Computer Science, and the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa (Canada) in Business Technology Management.

Eng. Raafat Hindy expressed his delight at taking part in the celebration, congratulating the graduates and affirming their role in helping build the future of digital Egypt.

He explained that building digital Egypt does not depend solely on developing telecommunications networks, data centers, and modern applications, but fundamentally rests on building people and developing their capabilities. This is achieved by giving young people opportunities to develop their technological skills and enabling them to find jobs or launch startups, as well as by providing citizens with easier digital services and supporting business owners in developing their activities.

He noted that developing digital capabilities is a top priority for the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, through expanding training and qualification programs across the sector's various specializations, adding that EUI is one of the main pillars of these efforts.

He added that the Ministry also offers 24 Digital Egypt Creativity Centers (Egypt Digital Creativity Centers) to enable young people to learn and turn their ideas into projects and startups, with a focus on providing training programs that match labor market needs in the era of the knowledge economy.

The Minister pointed out that the communications and information technology sector recorded a growth rate of 19.3% during the 2025/2026 fiscal year, maintaining its position among the fastest-growing sectors in the country.

He explained that the diverse skills of Egyptian youth have strengthened Egypt's position as a regional platform for exporting digital services, opening the door for graduates to take part in international projects from within Egypt, gain experience, and establish technology-based startups.

He also reviewed the Ministry's efforts in implementing digital transformation and developing government services, noting that the Digital Egypt platform currently offers around 250 digital government services. These go through stages that include process re-engineering, service design, building digital systems, and ensuring their cybersecurity and continuity.

He affirmed that EUI graduates have broad opportunities to contribute in these fields, in addition to helping develop digital infrastructure and the data center industry and AI applications.

Eng. Raafat Hindy affirmed that the graduation of this batch adds new qualified talent to the labor market to help advance Egypt's digital vision. He extended his thanks to Dr. Amr Talaat for his role in supporting the founding of the University, and praised the role of the late Prof. Reem Bahgat, the University's Founding President, as well as the Board of Trustees, faculty members, and international partners.

The ceremony also witnessed the signing of three cooperation agreements between EUI and the French university CESI École d'Ingénieurs. The agreements include dual bachelor's and master's degrees for students wishing to continue their studies in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, in addition to a student exchange agreement between the two universities.

The agreements were signed by Prof. Ahmed Hamad, Acting President of EUI, and Mr. Jean-Marc Ogier, Director General of CESI.

Prof. Ahmed Hamad explained that the agreements will take effect starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, following a series of discussions and arrangements between both sides. He noted that the cooperation allows students of the Faculties of Engineering and Computer Science and Information to continue their studies to earn a bachelor's degree from EUI and a master's degree from CESI in France.

He added that seven students have already begun their studies at the French university's campuses in Lyon and Toulouse, in specializations including artificial intelligence, computer engineering, embedded systems, cybersecurity, smart manufacturing, and digital transformation.
