Senior Payable Accountant
About the Role:
The Senior Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for overseeing the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting month-end closing activities, and supervising junior AP staff. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work within tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
1️⃣ Accounts Payable Operations
- Review, verify, and process payments for suppliers.
- Monitor payment schedules and ensure timely disbursements.
- Handle supplier reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate vendor master data.
2️⃣ Financial Control & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with EUI policies and accounting standards.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Ensure proper WHT – Salaries Taxes treatment where applicable.
3️⃣ Month-End & Reporting
- Prepare AP aging reports.
- Assist in accruals and provisions related to payables.
- Support monthly and yearly closing processes.
- Reconcile the AP sub-ledger with the General Ledger and the treasury
4️⃣ Cash Flow & Treasury Coordination
- Coordinate with Treasury for payment planning.
- Support cash flow forecasting by providing payable projections.
- Ensure proper payment prioritization based on due dates.
5️⃣ Team Supervision
- Supervise and mentor junior AP accountants.
- Review their entries before posting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable.
- ERP experience (SAP) is an addition.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Good knowledge of salaries and withholding tax regulations.
- Experience in handling large vendor portfolios is preferred.
