Omar Shafie's Research on Network Security Published on IEEE Xplore

We are proud to share that Omar Shafie, a student at the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences, has had a paper accepted and published as part of an international research collaboration, marking another milestone in cross-border scientific cooperation.

The paper, titled "Enhancement of Network Security Based on A Modified Lightweight Elliptic Curve Cryptography with Optimization Algorithm," was accepted and published at the 2026 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Computing and Integrated Communication in Changing Landscape of AI (ICSCAI). The work brought together researchers from India, Bangladesh, and the UAE, with the research conducted in Dubai. The collaboration reflects a truly international, multidisciplinary spirit, merging expertise in cybersecurity and the Internet of Things (IoT), with Omar Shafie contributing the AI-driven algorithmic optimization and deployment component of the work.

The paper explores a modified, lightweight elliptic curve cryptography approach enhanced through optimization algorithms, aimed at strengthening network security for resource-constrained environments such as IoT systems.

As the conference was primarily held in India, Omar presented the work hybrid, joining remotely from the Dubai contributors' meeting alongside fellow researchers on the project.
