ANIMATEX 2026 Inspires Animation Arts Students
Students from the Animation Arts program at Egypt University of Informatics, accompanied by Dr. Mostafa Elfaramawy, Animation Arts Program Director, recently attended the 6th edition of ANIMATEX, Egypt’s biggest animation festival. This year, the event celebrated 90 years of Egyptian animation (1936–2026), highlighting the country’s rich history and ongoing contributions to the animation industry.
The festival featured 15 feature film screenings and around 200 short films from across the globe, showcased in the official competitions. Attendees had the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, including talks, discussions, workshops, and masterclasses led by prominent local, regional, and international artists.
ANIMATEX is funded by the European Union in Egypt in collaboration with EUNIC Egypt, supporting the festival’s mission to foster cultural exchange and professional development in the animation industry.
The visit provided EUI Animation Arts students with valuable exposure to global trends, creative techniques, and industry practices, fostering inspiration and professional growth for their future careers.
