Engineering Students Gain Hands-On Training Through OPPO Program
Engineering students recently took part in a distinguished hands-on training experience in collaboration with OPPO Egypt, as part of the second phase of the SmartOPPOrtunity initiative. Hosted at the Imhotep Building for Creativity and Development in Knowledge City, the program provided EUI engineering students with an integrated theoretical and practical learning journey designed to prepare them for careers in the electronics and technology sectors.
Organized under the patronage of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the initiative reflects a strong collaboration between academia and industry to support Egypt’s digital transformation and develop highly skilled technical talent. The training equipped engineering students and fresh graduates with advanced technical knowledge and practical experience in smartphone maintenance, device assembly and disassembly, and industry-standard quality and manufacturing processes.
Participants also engaged in field visits to OPPO’s factory in 10th of Ramadan City, where they gained firsthand exposure to real production environments, global quality standards, and the full value chain of smartphone manufacturing. These visits offered students a comprehensive understanding of industrial operations and the professional skills required to succeed in leading technology companies.
In addition to technical training, the program emphasized essential workplace competencies such as teamwork, discipline, problem-solving, and professional awareness. The first cohort, consisting of 17 engineering students, received specialized maintenance equipment alongside direct technical mentorship from OPPO experts, enabling them to apply their learning in practical settings.
This initiative aligns with OPPO’s global mission, “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World,” highlighting the company’s commitment to empowering youth and creating sustainable community impact. Through hosting this program, Egypt University of Informatics reaffirms its dedication to bridging academic learning with real-world industry experience and strengthening partnerships that prepare engineering students to lead the future of technology and innovation in Egypt and beyond.
