EUI Welcomes a Highly Esteemed Italian Government Delegation

Today, Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) welcomed an Italian government delegation, which included Mr. Ambassador Vincenzo Del Monaco, Minister Plenipotentiary, Second Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, and Dr. Eva Spina, Director General and Head of Department for Digital Connectivity and New Technologies at the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.  The purpose of the visit was to explore the university’s capabilities and potential areas of cooperation with the Italian side, especially in light of EUI’s educational programs that aim to meet the needs of the local, regional, and neighboring European markets for specialists in cutting-edge fields of information and communication technology.

Prof. Ahmed Hamad, Acting President of Egypt University of Informatics, stated that there are numerous opportunities for collaboration with the Italian side, particularly as Egypt aims to establish an Artificial Intelligence Center to serve the African continent in cooperation with Italy. He highlighted the prospects for new partnerships in AI and international digital infrastructure—fields that require a highly skilled workforce, which EUI graduates can provide. These graduates are well-positioned to meet the demand for future jobs not only in Egypt and Africa, but also in European Union markets. EUI benefits from a wide network of agreements with top-tier research centers, globally ranked universities, and leading ICT companies.

He added that the university is keen to expand its network of partnerships, already established with American, Canadian, and French universities, to include countries like Italy. Furthermore, EUI aims to deepen collaboration with leading companies in the ICT sector in order to keep pace with global technological developments.

Prof. Hamad also noted that EUI adopts a dynamic educational system that motivates students and empowers them to pursue continuous learning, both theoretical and practical. This approach enhances students’ skills and provides them with scientific and research experience, strengthening their competitiveness in both local and global labor markets. This aligns with the state’s directives to graduate generations of creative individuals.

Dr. Amal El-Gammal, Head of International Relations at EUI, delivered a presentation to the Italian delegation showcasing the university’s advanced facilities and its comprehensive approach to modern education. She emphasized that EUI is committed to aligning with labor market developments, especially in the fields of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.

She pointed out that the university offers academic programs designed to meet labor market demands in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, data engineering, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, electronics manufacturing, communication sciences, mechatronics and robotics, financial technology, digital marketing, animation, user experience design, and game development.

The Italian delegation expressed great admiration for the advanced technological capabilities of Egypt University of Informatics, voicing their appreciation for the university’s potential and the opportunities it offers for cooperation with Italian universities, research centers, and companies. They acknowledged the potential for EUI graduates to work in Italy and across the European Union.
