Egypt University of Informatics Secures 24 Scholarships for Study at Top Universities in the US, Canada, France, and Germany

Professor. Ahmed Hamed, Acting President of the Egypt University of Informatics (EUI), announced that the university has secured 24 scholarships enabling students and faculty members to continue their studies at leading international universities in the United States, Canada, France, and Germany, in partnership with major companies and banks operating in the technology and business sectors.

Prof. Hamad said the scholarships and funding programs reflect the growing trust of EUI's partners in the quality of education the university provides and in its students' ability to excel at top global academic institutions. He described the initiative as a model of cooperation between the academic and private sectors, marking the beginning of a new phase of international expansion for the university.

He added that the university plans to keep building international partnerships that offer students unprecedented educational and research opportunities, supporting Egypt's position as a regional hub for innovation, technology education, and the digital economy—while helping prepare a new generation of Egyptian talent capable of leading the digital economy in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.

According to Prof. Hamad, the scholarships fall within the university's strategic plan, which centers on six pillars:

  • Expanding international partnerships with leading global universities

  • Diversifying academic destinations rather than relying on a single country or region

  • Providing varied pathways to dual degrees

  • Supporting mobility of students and faculty between EUI and partner universities abroad

  • Strengthening research collaboration and innovation

  • Producing graduates with international experience who remain connected to their home country and university

Microsoft Egypt is funding the largest share of the scholarships, covering 16 students, while WE (Telecom Egypt) and Banque Misr are each funding three students. The university itself is covering the cost of one student from its own budget, along with half the postgraduate study costs for faculty member Mariam Sherif El-Satouhy of the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design, who will complete her studies in Germany.

Dr. Amal El-Gammal, Head of the International Relations Office at EUI, outlined the four tracks through which scholarship recipients will study:

1. CESI, France — Starting September 2026, five students from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences will move to CESI's campuses in Lyon and Toulouse. Under the agreement, students will earn a bachelor's degree from EUI and a master's degree from CESI École d'Ingénieurs, gaining advanced expertise in artificial intelligence, computer engineering, embedded systems, cybersecurity, smart manufacturing, and digital transformation.

2. ISART Digital, France — Four students from the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design will pursue a 4+1 program, earning a bachelor's degree from EUI and a master's degree from ISART Digital in Creative Strategy Management—a program combining strategic management, digital game project management, creative industries, entrepreneurship, and production team leadership. Notably, ISART Digital—ranked among the world's top two universities specializing in video games—agreed to reopen program slots specifically for EUI students despite the program being full, and will host all admitted students at its Paris campus, where they will study in English, work alongside graduation-project development teams, and participate in ISART TALENTS, a major European industry event bringing together over 200 gaming companies and experts.

3. University of Minnesota, USA — Seven students from the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences will complete their final academic year at the University of Minnesota under a 3+1 program, earning a dual bachelor's degree from both institutions.

4. Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa, Canada — Seven students from the Faculty of Business Technology will study at Telfer—ranked among the top 1% of business schools worldwide and holder of Triple Crown Accreditation—under a 2+2 program leading to a dual bachelor's degree from EUI and the University of Ottawa.

Dr. El-Gammal noted that the scholarships reflect the success of EUI's strategy in building a diverse network of international partnerships spanning France, the United States, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, and other European countries. She emphasized that the scholarships represent more than study-abroad opportunities—they are a long-term investment in Egypt's economic future, as returning graduates will bring academic and professional expertise to support Egypt's industrial development, digital transformation, technology transfer, innovation, entrepreneurship, and national economic competitiveness. She added that the Microsoft-funded track in particular aligns with Egypt's national priorities in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, creative industries, semiconductors, digital engineering, and the digital economy.
