EUI Showcases Its Vision to African Media Delegation
Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) received today, Tuesday, an African media delegation comprising 18 journalists representing several African countries at the university’s campus in Knowledge City, the New Administrative Capital. The visit comes as part of their stay in Egypt, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, to strengthen cultural and media exchange and learn about the achievements of the New Republic across various fields.
During the meeting, Prof. Ahmed Hamad, Acting President of Egypt University of Informatics, emphasized the university’s commitment to strengthening ties with its African counterparts, particularly in the fields of higher education, training, and technology transfer, especially in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and business informatics—areas in which EUI possesses strong capabilities and is ready to cooperate with African universities.
Prof. Hamad noted that the university organized a campus tour for the African media delegation to showcase its advanced academic programs designed to meet the needs of both local and regional labor markets, particularly in the field of information and communication technology. The delegation also explored EUI’s state-of-the-art research laboratories, which are on par with those at leading international universities.
He added that the delegation met with the deans of EUI’s four faculties, who presented the university’s academic disciplines and the benefits it offers to students—most notably its extensive network of international partnerships with top universities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and France.
Prof. Hamad stressed that Egypt places great importance on enhancing cooperation with African nations in education and scientific research, including through scholarships offered by various Egyptian universities to African students. He affirmed that EUI welcomes African students to study across its faculties and to participate in advancing sustainable development and the collective renaissance of African societies.
Meanwhile, Dr. Amal El-Gamal, Head of the International Relations Sector at EUI, delivered a presentation highlighting the university’s advanced capabilities in preparing specialists in key ICT fields—such as artificial intelligence, data engineering, electronics manufacturing, communication sciences, mechatronics and robotics, fintech, digital marketing, animation arts, and game design.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Hoda Mokhtar, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Sciences; Prof. Ashraf Mehran, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Prof. Mohamed Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Business Informatics; and Prof. Ashraf Zaki, Dean of the Faculty of Digital Arts and Design, along with several faculty members.
